Overview
The Centre for Mathematical Sciences and Intelligent Systems (CMSIS) was established in 2026 under the School of Mathematical Sciences at 狼友社区. This centre serves as a focal point for advancing high-quality research, supporting postgraduate research activities, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing the visibility and impact of research in mathematical sciences, artificial intelligence, statistics, and actuarial science.
CMSIS provides an inclusive and collaborative research environment that promotes innovative scholarship, facilitates competitive research funding applications, and strengthens engagement with academic, industrial, and governmental stakeholders at both national and international levels. The Centre is organised into five research clusters:
- Pure Mathematics
- Computational and Applied Mathematical Modelling
- Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems
- Statistical Data Modelling and Applied Analytics
- Actuarial Science and Decision Analytics
These research clusters encompass a broad spectrum of theoretical and applied research areas, including combinatorics and graph theory, number theory, matrix and operator theory, linear and multilinear algebra, dynamical systems, bifurcation theory, fractional calculus, differential equations, optimisation, operations research, and mathematical biology.
CMSIS also undertakes interdisciplinary research addressing contemporary challenges in heat transfer and fluid flow, porous media, mathematical physics, disease dynamics, travelling waves, computational optimal control, and data-driven decision-making.
In the area of intelligent systems and data science, the Centre focuses on advanced methodologies including machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence systems, neural and bilinear networks, topological data analysis, supervised and unsupervised learning, predictive analytics, and explainable AI.

Mission
Centre for Mathematical Sciences and Intelligent Systems promotes advanced high-quality research that integrates mathematical sciences with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and data-driven systems. It will provide a collaborative platform where expertise in pure, applied, and computational mathematics, along with statistics and actuarial science, works together to address both theoretical frontiers and practical challenges. The goal is to generate high-impact research, secure competitive research grants, and support postgraduate research development. It will also actively build partnerships with industry, government agencies, and international collaborators to ensure its research contributes to both academic advancement and practical applications.
