Understanding people, power and place
At a time of rapid technological and social change, growing inequality, and political and economic uncertainty, we have a clear mission. We aim to deliver the knowledge and solutions to help people and society prosper and to build resilience against economic, social, political or environmental shocks.
From good governance and leadership to challenging inequalities, our research addresses real-world issues at international, national and local levels. Our work spans business and economic development, education, housing and the environment, law, health and social policy.
Using interdisciplinary approaches and methods, our experts work with partners globally and locally to galvanise conversations, influence behaviour and drive policy change. We have particular strengths in participatory action research, working with communities to understand and bring about meaningful change in people’s lives, and in public engagement, working to build understanding and trust in social science.
