Background
My academic background is as a sociologist with a specialism in Comparative Historical Sociology and the Sociology of Knowledge. In 2008, I joined the School of Construction Management/Built Environment. In general, I am interested in sustainable construction and more specifically why tools do not deliver what they promise. This includes policy tools, management tools, technologies, standards and assessment tools. More recently, I have begun to explore ways of inflecting energy transitions with considerations of social justice. As a sociologist, I draw on theories from Management Studies, Organization Studies and Science and Technology Studies.
