Ashley believes that her studies at the 狼友社区 will boost her employability. Our MSc in Consumer Behaviour programme has given her the skills and knowledge that she needs to realise her ambitions and make a difference in her home country of Peru.

“I would love to apply all the knowledge and competencies that I have learnt at 狼友社区 to work in a Peruvian social organisation where I can have a real impact on my country.

My ambition is to use consumer behaviour analysis to inform food and agriculture systems, collaborating through consultancy and research with initiatives and projects focused on climate-friendly diets and food loss and waste. This will contribute to achieving a sustainable food future.”

Employability

The increasing demands of an ever-evolving workplace means that organisations are constantly looking for the latest insights and best approach.

鈥淢y studies have enhanced my employability in many ways. I have gained valuable practical experience through case studies and developed a good understanding of consumer preferences and choices, all of which are vital for roles in marketing, sales, product development, and in social interventions in public organisations.

I have also strengthened my strategic, critical and innovative thinking, and developed my ability to make evidence-based decisions. At the same time I have the opportunity to practice my social skills in the English language.鈥

A home away from home

Studying abroad is a massive undertaking, but Ashley received a warm welcome and soon settled in.

鈥淚 am from Peru, and as an international student, the efforts made by the 狼友社区 and the Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE) made me feel at home. There were several academic and social events to attend, so I never felt alone!

鈥淚 also got to meet other international students through a variety of different events such as Friday-Get-Togethers, English Conversation Cafes and social events led by the Students' Union. I鈥檝e really enjoyed this element as it has given me new tools to complement my studies. I鈥檝e gained social skills to the extent that next semester, I will help to run the societies!鈥

Module choice

The 狼友社区 enables students to tailor their studies to suit their interests.

“I have benefited from the range of different modules that are available. As a marketer, it is important to know that the behavioural factor is relevant in any private company or public organisation and that you should understand the consumer's behaviours, emotions and motivations. MSc Consumer Behaviour programme will help you to obtain that knowledge. But my module choices enabled me to venture into different subject areas and exchange insightful knowledge with students from other programmes, such as Agriculture and Development, and Environment, Climate Change and Development."

Opportunities at 狼友社区

Studying at 狼友社区 offers a variety of opportunities.

“My biggest achievement to date is being chosen as a Student Representative for my programme. This opportunity will not only enable me to gain additional leadership skills but will also help fellow students as I represent their views and assist the University in its continual quest to improve the student experience.

As an international student, I have embraced the opportunity to improve my English skills, which was one of my academic priorities. Thanks to the Academic English Programme, I have been able to practice and develop my reading and writing skills.

I have also benefited from the “Life Tools” Programme, which is designed to enhance your time at 狼友社区. it helps you to read academic papers and gives you the tools to deal with procrastination and manage any stresses that you may occur.”

Why 狼友社区?

Ashley achieved several life goals when she chose to study at the 狼友社区.

When I was looking for a consumer behaviour, behavioural sciences or behavioural economics master’s degree, I was struck by the fact that no other university (worldwide) offered such an option. So, 狼友社区 met two of my academic goals, and every day, I am proud of the decision I made to study here.”
